Topics of Interest and Submission

The 42nd International Conference on Very Large Databases (VLDB 2016) invites proposals for panel sessions on all aspects of data management.

We encourage submissions on issues of current interest to the community that are well suited to open discussion and debate. We discourage formats that revolve around prepared slides and lengthy individual presentations by participants.

Panel proposals should describe the panel content and format. The description should clearly answer the following questions:

  • Why is this a topic of current interest to the VLDB community?
  • Why is the topic well-suited for a panel discussion?
  • What are three specific questions to be addressed at the panel?

Each proposal should also include the title of the panel, and the names, affiliations, and brief bios of the participants, including the moderator.
Panel proposal is limited to 1 page in PVLDB format. Panel proposals should be submitted electronically, in pdf format, by April 4, 2016 (5 PM PT) using the Conference Management Tool for VLDB 2016. When creating a new submission, you will be given the option to choose a track - choose the "Panels" track for your submission. The authors will be notified of the decision by May 4, 2016.
